"RD and Patricia"
was commissioned as a part of a series of pen and ink
drawings.
This series of
drawings consist of three separate drawings of the subject in period
Civil War costume, one in current military uniform and one drawing
combining two older photos.
This pen and ink
is a rendering of the fifth in the series of drawings. The rendering
was completed using two photos supplied by the client.
This study in pen
and ink techniques was completed in August 2007.
Extensive use of
stippling effects combined with some line art was used to create a
dramatic finished portrait of "RD and Patricia".
The work took 13
hours to complete and measures about 8 1/2 x 11 inches on an 11 x 14
background.
The combination of
two photos used as a guide in completion
of this artwork. These photos were supplied by the client.
